Darley Abbey is a lovely quaint village just north of the City of Derby in Derbyshire.

Darley Park, which borders the village is very popular and a great place to walk and enjoy the many splendid views running down to a stretch of the river Derwent, which is used for boating and has an annual regatta.

My photograph is taken from Mill View Garden and takes in the view across the River Derwent towards the West Mill. The area is quite a large complex, with the oldest parts dating back to 1789. Today the mill complex houses many different businesses including a wedding venue and is part of the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site, which runs from Matlock Bath in the north of the County to Derby.
